BRAZIL WELCOMES EGYPT’S APPROVAL FOR BONE-IN BEEF EXPORTS

The Brazilian government has celebrated another achievement: the Egyptian government’s decision to allow Brazil to export bone-in beef to the country.

In 2023, Brazilian agricultural exports to Egypt exceeded $1.73 billion, with over $384 million coming from sales of animal proteins. In the first half of this year alone, Brazil has already exported more than $1.31 billion in agribusiness commodities to Egypt. Additionally, in March, Egypt opened its market for Brazilian meat, processed meat products, and offals from goats and sheep.

With this new authorization, Brazil’s agribusiness sector has achieved its 91st market opening of the year, bringing the total to 169 openings in 56 destinations since the beginning of 2023.

These results result from collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
